benj_franklin: Good morning, everyone!

What - haven't you ever seen a great man before?

If roadstergal claims to be me, don't believe a word of it. I think she's not quite right in the head.

I apologize for my absence; I have been traveling extensively in England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. I had a most pleasing visit with men of a scientific disposition in London. I was delighted with the character of the Irish patriots; I believe we have found true friends in them. Delightful as my travels were, however, they can not compare to the entertainment of sitting back and listening to a collection of grown, educated men bicker like housewives at market. Please, continue!

Welcome sir...and your assistant.

Misters Chase and Thomson are quite happy with your arrival. Especially Mister Thomson...he has always valued your friendship and gives hearty thanks.

Hope you and your assistant enjoy your time here at in_congress

I assure you, I take pleasure wherever it offers itself. Good to see you again. How is that lovely little wife of yours?

She is quite well and happy. Thank you for asking.

Sat, Mar. 17th, 2007 04:11 am (UTC)

Thank you, sir. Glad to see there are still a few halfway sane men in this congress.

Sat, Mar. 17th, 2007 12:33 am (UTC)

My word, tis Dr. Franklin!

Sat, Mar. 17th, 2007 04:11 am (UTC)

Unfortunately for the good of congress, yes...

Sat, Mar. 17th, 2007 01:02 am (UTC)

Mr. Franklin. Well, in regards to your arrival, better late than never.

I hope that you won't just be sitting back passively during this congress, but that you'll step forward and speak up as the proponent of Independence I KNOW you are.

Your Servant, sir.

Sat, Mar. 17th, 2007 04:14 am (UTC)

No decision of importance should ever be made in haste, sir. There is nothing to be gained by running into a rebellion willy-nilly.

That being said, my trip abroad did influence me profoundly. Perhaps we can speak more of this. Perhaps along with that long-winded cousin of yours, as well - as long as we have comfortable seats.
