congresswhore: Ladies and Gentlemen: Edward Rutledge

Suhs, I have returned from a necessary and tedious journey to the fair colony of South Carolina to oversee some business regarding a rebellious slave.  Pity that while I participate in this congress there remains not one person at my Charleston plantation who is capable of dealing with such menial tasks.  I must look into that.

But fear not, for I have returned to represent the admirable South!  My *ahem* secretarymushroomthief will be taking my dictations.  I admit, I am looking forward to spending time with my fellow congressmen again, both in and out of congress.  *smirk*

Carry on, gentlemen.  I am feeling satisfied already to be back in Philadelphia.

P.S. I will withdraw to my chambers immediately after congress adjourns, for I am road-weary.  In case anyone has forgotten, my apartment is located at 23 High Street, in the event that a private visit is desired.

*wink*

Ah, the difficulties that come with attempting to convince all and sundry that people are property. roadstergal and I welcome you back, sir.

Difficulties, suh? Yes, quite. Tell me, why is it that men of intelligence such as yourself cannot come to terms with the fact that slaves are not people at all, but a precious commodity?
